PhD student/postdoc position in Experimental Particle Physics
The Experimental Particle Physics group (EE2) at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin plans to fill either a Ph.D. student position (3 years) or a postdoc position (2 years) with focus on the SHiP experiment proposal and/or on generic R&D of Wavelength-Shifting Optical Modules (WOMs) for light detection in liquid scintillators.
The department of physics at the Humboldt-Universität has a broad activity in the ATLAS experiment and is strongly engaged in various astroparticle physics experiments. In addition, the physics department participates in theoretical particle physics, including phenomenology, lattice gauge theory, and string theory.
Candidates interested in a Ph.D. student position should have a master degree in physics with specialisation in experimental particle physics. Candidates interested in a postdoc position should have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent and a strong scientific background.
Expertise in high-energy particle physics detectors and electronics read-out are desirable.
In case of interest please provide a CV, copies of your bachelor and master certi-ficates and a list of publications, as well as two letters of recommendation by March 17th, 2016, preferably via
email, to: Heiko.Lacker@physik.hu-berlin.de
