Job description:
The Nuclear Physics Group in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at University of California, Los Angeles invites applications for a post-doc position. The Group has research programs on Quantum ChromoDynamics (QCD) physics with the STAR experiment at BNL RHIC and on neutrino physics with the CUORE experiment at Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso (LNGS). The post-doc is expected to work on the CUORE experiment to search for neutrinoless double beta decays from the Te-130 isotope. The successful candidate will work on CUORE physics analysis and simulations at UCLA and is expected to stay at LNGS for a significant period of time to participate in the CUORE detector installation, commissioning and data-taking operations. Required qualifications include a Ph.D. degree in nuclear or particle physics within the last three years, and experience in nuclear instrumentation or radiation detectors, ROOT and GEANT software packages.
