DESY, Hamburg location, is seeking:
Postdoc (f/m) position in CMS

DESY

DESY is one of the world’s leading research centres for photon science, particle and astroparticle physics as well as accelerator physics. The particle physics programme of DESY consists of strong and extensive contributions to the LHC experiments ATLAS and CMS, and to the preparation of a future linear collider. The experimental programme is enhanced by collaboration with a strong theory group. DESY is searching for a high energy experimental postdoctoral researcher to work in the CMS experiment. The successful candidate is expected to participate actively in top quark and Higgs boson physics analysis, and will also contribute to detector research and development for the next CMS silicon strip tracking detector.

The position
-Active role in the CMS experiment
-Focus on top quark and Higgs boson physics analyses
-Participation in detector research and development for the Phase-II upgrade of the CMS silicon strip tracking detector

Requirements
-Ph.D. in Experimental Particle Physics
-Experience in top quark physics analysis in CMS
-Experience in trigger and physics object performance in CMS
-Experience in supervision of students Strong motivation for software development
-Excellent teamwork abilities and good communication skills and knowledge of English
