Job Description Post-doctoral Research Associate position for Nuclear Theory Group, Physics Department Position date: April, 2016 The Nuclear Theory Group, https://www.bnl.gov/physics/NTG/, in the PhysicsDepartment at BNL is looking for a post-doctoral Research Associate for a term of two years. The candidate chosen will join in BNL’s research efforton the physics of high energy Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). BNL’s Nuclear Theory performs research in all areas of high energy QCD, including perturbative QCD, hadronic spin physics, partonic structure of hadrons, small x physics, QCD at finite temperature and baryon density. In particular, the group's focus is on the theory and phenomenology related to the experimental programs at RHIC, the LHC and other current facilities in nuclear physics, and the science program of a future Electron-Ion Collider. The candidate will work in the Nuclear Theory Group as a member of the BEST Collaboration, performing independent as well as collaborative research in one or more focused areas of high energy QCD listed above, as well as the phenomenological studies in support of the Beam Energy Scan experimental program at RHIC, and other facilities in nuclear physics.
