Job description:
The high energy physics group of Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU) invites applications for several research scientist and postdoctoral fellowship positions in neutrino physics. SYSU is currently participating Daya Bay (http://dayabay.ihep.ac.cn/), JUNO (http://juno.ihep.ac.cn/) and PANDA-III (gas Xenon neutrinoless double beta decay and liquid Argon dark matter) experiments and with possible participation of future dark matter and neutrinoless double beta decay experiments(nEXO). The research scientists and postdoc fellows are expected to play important roles in one or more aspects in the areas of data analysis with the Daya Bay experiment, design and construction of the JUNO experiment (including neutrino physics study, software development, R&D of the liquid scintillator detector and the muon water Cherenkov detector, etc.), R&D of future dark matter and neutrinoless double beta decay experiments, as well as neutrino phenomenology.

Post doc candidates should have or expect to have a PhD degree by the time of appointment, in particle physics or in nuclear physics. Research scientist candidates require to have both PhD degree and post doc experience in those fields.

The positions will remain open until they are filled. Initial appointment for post docs will be made for two years, with possible renewal. The basic annual salary provided by SYSU will be 120k RMB (18.2k USD). Outstanding candidates can apply for University fellowship for additional 40k RMB (6.1k USD) per year. Since The high-energy physics program at SYSU is one of the funding institutes of the CCEPP(CAS Center for Excellence in Particle Physics). Successful candidates can also apply for “Chung-Yao Chao Fellowship” for additional 80k RMB (12.1 USD) per year. Initial appointment for research scientists are three years. Competitive candidates will be encouraged to apply for permanent faculty positions in SYSU after the initial appointment.
