Seeking a Research Scientist and Postdoctoral Researcher Laboratory Interdisciplinary Fundamental Physics Team Interdisciplinary Theoretical Science Research Group Research Groups (Team Leader: Tetsuo Hatsuda) Area of Research “Interdisciplinary Theoretical Science (iTHES) Research Group” (group director: T. Hatsuda) is established at RIKEN in June 1, 2013. It promotes interdisciplinary collaborations among theoretical scientists from fundamental physics, materials science and biological science; it also aims at understanding nature’s multiple-hierarchy problems which are ubiquitous in various disciplines. iTHES is composed of four terms: Interdisciplinary Fundamental Physics Team (T. Hatsuda, T. Nakatsukasa, E. Hiyama), Interdisciplinary Condensed Matter Physics Team (F. Nori, A. Furusaki, S. Yunoki), Interdisciplinary Theoretical Biology Team (A. Mochizuki, Y. Sugita), and Interdisciplinary Mathematical and Computational Collaboration Team (S. Nagataki, T. Miyoshi, T. Nakajima). In particular, in the Interdisciplinary Fundamental Physics Team, collaborative works to understanding the origin of matter and the universe are taking place. Available Position and Job Description Interdisciplinary Fundamental Physics Team is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher who will contribute to the theoretical activities on quantum few-body problems and cold atomic systems in Hiyama Strangeness Nuclear Physics Laboratory. In addition, successful applicant is expected to promote interdisciplinary researches among fundamental physics, materials science, biological science, computational science and mathematical science. Location RIKEN, 2-1 Hirosawa, Wako-shi, Saitama 351-0198, Japan Salary and benefits One-year fixed-term employment contract, renewable, based on the evaluation, up until March 31,2018 at the latest.Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Commuting and housing allowances will be provided. Social insurance will be applied. Mandatory membership in the RIKEN Mutual Benefit Society (RIKEN Kyosaikai).
