Job description:
The high energy particle theory group at Wayne State University invites applications for 2 or 3 PhD positions. The most qualified applicants will be offered a prestigious Thomas C Rumble Fellowship, others will be covered by WSU research and/or teaching assistantships. The positions can be started as soon as January 2016, the preferred starting date of the appointments is September 1st, 2016.

We have a very active research group consisting of faculty members Gil Paz, Alexey A. Petrov, and Nausheen R. Shah, as well as several students and postdocs. Research interests of the group include Higgs phenomenology, effective field theories, Dark Matter phenomenology, particle astrophysics, heavy quark physics and CP violation. The group has close ties to the nuclear theory group of Sean Gavin and Abhijit Majumder. In addition, the WSU Department of Physics and Astronomy offers a unique opportunity of close interaction with both the experimental high energy particle and nuclear physics groups.

Perspective students should apply online at http://wayne.edu/admissions/graduate and inform Prof. Alexey Petrov (apetrov@wayne.edu) of their applications.
