The MTA-ELTE Lendület (“Momentum”) CMS Particle and Nuclear Physics Group (http://cms.elte.hu/) at the Department of Atomic Physics, Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest invites applications for a postoctoral fellow position in High-Energy Physics.
The main research focus of the department is particle and nuclear physics, astro-particle physics, and astrophysics. Our University is a member of several large international collaborations, including CMS, LIGO, Pan-STARRS, PHENIX, NUSTAR and LSST.
The main focus of our CMS group is searches for Beyond Standard Model phenomena, measurements related to the Standard Model electroweak and QCD sectors, as well as Heavy Ion physics. We have technical responsibilities related to the high-level trigger, the BRIL beam background and luminosity detectors and the Zero Degree Calorimeter, with participation in the Phase-2 CMS upgrade.
For those interested, teaching opportunities exist at the university – our MSc program is entirely in English.
The duration of the contract is initially two years, with the possibility of extension depending on the performance of the applicant. The review of candidates starts immediately however full consideration will be given to those who submit their application before the 31st of March, 2018. The position will remain open until filled by a suitable candidate.
