Job description:
POSTDOC POSITION IN EXPERIMENTAL PARTICLE PHYSICS AT NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY

Northwestern University seeks highly qualified candidates for Postdoctoral Research Associate positions
working on the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) or the
Mu2E experiment at Fermilab.  Northwestern has a strong and exciting research effort in both programs.

Our experimental particle physics group is led by Profs. Mayda Velasco (CMS, Mu2E), Michael Schmitt (CMS, Mu2E),
Kristian Hahn (CMS), Tali Figueroa-Feliciano (SuperCDMS)  and Eric Dahl (LZ, PICO). We also closely collaborate
with our theory colleagues Profs. Frank Petriello, Ian Low and Andre de Gouvea.

The successful CMS candidate is expected to participate in data analysis and to contribute to our responsibilities
for the high granularity calorimeter which is a part of the CMS HL-LHC.

The successful Mu2E candidate is expected to participate in analysis development with a significant effort in the
understanding of backgrounds, and to contribute to our responsibilities  for the mapping and monitoring
of the magnetic fields.

Interested candidates should submit their curriculum vitae, bibliography of publications listing only those articles
to which the candidate has made significant contributions and a signed cover letter that includes a statement of
accomplishments and research interests. The candidate should also arrange for at least three letters of reference.
All correspondence should  be sent to:

         nuparticlepostdoc@northwestern.edu

Interviews will start on April 1, 2018.  The position will remain open until filled.

A Ph.D. in experimental particle physics is required.

Northwestern Unviersity in Evanston Illinois, is an equal
opportunity/affirmative action employer. Women and members of
minority groups are especially encouraged to apply.
