POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN NUCLEAR THEORY
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) invites applications for
a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in nuclear theory with Prof. Jonathan
Engel, to begin around September 1, 2016 (starting date flexible). Some
funding for the position is from the SciDAC NUCLEI collaboration, of which the
fellow will be a part. Candidates should have experience in nuclear-structure
theory (or other kinds of many-body theory), nuclear astrophysics, or
fundamental symmetries in nuclei. It is anticipated that research will focus
on double-beta decay, r-process nucleosynthesis, and nuclear structure,
including both ab initio methods and density functional theory.
Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a statement of research
interests, and the names of three people who can write letters of
recommendation (and who will be contacted automatically) to the UNC website at
http://unc.peopleadmin.com/postings/86519 by January 1, 2016. Evaluation of
