Job description:
The University of Tartu and the Laboratory of High Energy and Computational Physics (HECP) of the National Institute of Chemical Physics and Biophysics (NICPB) invite applications for a PhD position in topics related to particle physics, cosmology and gravity.

Questions and expression of interests should be submitted via email to Andi Hektor, andi.hektor@cern.ch

The PhD fellowships is funded prior to the successful application of the candidate. The fellowship includes the stipenium 1060 euros per month (social security including medical insurance is covered automatically for PhD students) and travel costs (1-2 conferences or longer visits to CERN per year). The successful applicant will be enrolled in the PhD course at the University of Tartu, for a period of four years, and the applicant will be based at the NICPB in Tallinn.

The research group of the Laboratory of HECP, lead by Prof. Martti Raidal, currently comprises ten researchers working on topics that range from the phenomenology of physics beyond the Standard Model to cosmology, with particular interest in collider physics, naturalness, theories of Inflation, phenomenology of Dark Matter and gravitational waves in connection to phase transitions. The group is in collaboration with the CERN theory Division (Prof. J. Ellis and Prof. A. Djouadi). HECP has a local group of experimental physicists within the CMS collaboration at CERN.

Candidates expecting to complete a Master degree in physics are also encouraged to apply.
