Job description:
The Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing invites applications for several postdoctoral fellowship positions in neutrino physics. IHEP carries out a comprehensive program in neutrino researches, including leading the Daya Bay (http://dayabay.ihep.ac.cn/) and JUNO (http://juno.ihep.ac.cn/) experiments, participating in EXO/nEXO and LBNF, and actively carrying out R&D of detection technologies. The postdoc fellows are expected to play important roles in one or more aspects in the areas of data analysis with the Daya Bay experiment, design and construction of the JUNO experiment (including physics, software, detector, data acquisition, etc.), analysis of the EXO data and R&D of nEXO, R&D of new technology and neutrino beamline, as well as neutrino phenomenology.
Candidates should have a PhD degree in related fields awarded in 6 years, or to be awarded when the term starts. The successful applicants will be based in Beijing, China. Knowledge of Chinese language is not required.
The positions will remain open until they are filled. Initial appointment will be made for two years, with possible renewal. The qualified candidates will be supported partially by the “Chung-Yao Chao Fellowship” of the CAS Center for Excellence in Particle Physics (CCEPP), with an annual salary ranges from 200k to 300k RMB (about 31k to 47k USD) depending on the evaluation by the committee of the Fellowship.
The applications should be made by March 31, 2018, and the evaluation will be done by the end of April. After that, applications can also be considered as soon as they are received, but will compete for the Chung-Yao Chao Fellowship in the next year.
