Job description:

In the context of the EOS (Excellence of Science) program in Belgium, the project "be.h - The H boson gateway to physics beyond Standard Model” (be-h.be) will start the 1st of Jan 2018, as a collaboration among Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL), ULB, U. Gent, U. Antwerpen and VUB.

Within this program, the UCL offers a postdoctoral position (2 years) to be filled as soon as possible in the topic of “Search for light scalar, pseudo-scalar and vector Hidden Sector mediators at NA62”. The applicant should have a PhD in phenomenology or experimental high energy physics at the time of the appointment and being in the condition of international mobility (the researcher should not have resided or carried out his/her main activity (job, studies...) in Belgium for more than 24 months during the 3 years directly preceding the beginning of the present postdoctoral fellowship).

The positions are open to candidates of any nationality. The EOS consortium welcomes applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We regard gender equality and diversity as a strength and an asset.

The successful candidate will take a leading role in the search for light Hidden Sector mediators produced in kaon decays with two leptons in the final state, and (s)he will implement/validate MC generators (in collaboration with other members of the be-h consortium) and include them in the NA62 simulations to provide limits or discovery interpretations. The candidate is expected to have an outstanding record of research activity in particle physics.

The successful candidate will join and reinforce the NA62 and pheno group at the Centre for Cosmology, Particle Physics and Phenomenology, working on NA62 (Eduardo Cortina), LHC/NA62 precision phenomenology (Fabio Maltoni), Dark Matter searches (Chiara Arina), neutrino phenomenology (Marco Drewes).

The application should contain a CV, the list of publications and a brief research statement. Three recommendation letters should be also arranged. Applications should be submitted via the online system of CP3:

http://cp3.irmp.ucl.ac.be/Jobs/Details/CP3-18-EOS-NA62-Postdoc

Letters of application and the recommendation letters from senior scientists should be submitted using the online form only.

All the material should be sent preferably by the 15th of February. Review of the applications will start the 16th of February 2018.
