Job description:
The call for application for the Nanyang President’s Graduate Scholarship is now open until 30 November 2015. This call is for the intakes of August 2016 and January 2017 in PhD program (4-yr)

In brief, the scholarship covers full tuition fees and provides a monthly stipend, along with conference allowance per financial year, one-time IT allowance, annual grant for journal subscription or book purchase and thesis preparation allowance. Candidates should have a 1st class honours degree and there is no restriction to the nationality of candidates.

The candidates are required to inform me (email: hbsu@ntu.edu.sg) after they have applied so that I can collate the information and arrange the interviews. Candidates should have a PhD degree in physics, or theoretical chemistry. The project is to develop efficient algorithm for studying semi-classical electron dynamics in collaborations with experienced experimentalists, which is one of major thrusts in Singapore. The average expense of one single student is about S$ 1000 / mo, including rent and food, etc. NTU offers an attractive and comfortable living environment.

Coverage and award terms

  • Full tuition fees
  • Monthly stipend of $3,000 (for International Students)  
  • Conference allowance up to S$4,000 per financial year (April previous year to March current year).
  • One-time IT allowance of $1500
  • Annual grant of $500 for journal subscription or book purchase
  • Thesis preparation allowance
  • Priority will be given for subsidised campus accommodation
