Job description:
The experimental high-energy physics group at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship position in experimental particle physics on the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. A Ph.D. in experimental high-energy particle physics and experience with physics analysis in addition to detector hardware and/or software is required.

Witwatersrand is a member institute collaborating Tile Calorimeter, contributing to maintenance, operations and upgrade, with emphasis on high-throughput electronics and radiation studies. The group contributes to searches using the Higgs boson, and has strong interest in jet substructure techniques, Standard Model measurements and Monte Carlo event generators. A competitive salary package will be offered. The position is renewable annually, for a maximum of up to three years. There exists the possibility of spending significant time at CERN.
