Job description:
The Astronomical Observatory of the University of Warsaw invites applications
for two post doctoral positions. The appointments will be for up to three years.
The successful candidates may start as early as March 1st, 2018.
The gravitational wave group at the University of Warsaw is a part of the POLGRAW
group and the VIRGO collaboration. The Warsaw group works on several subjects
related to gravitational waves from source modelling through data analysis and work
on detector performance. The candidates should have a background in either
gravitational astronomy, physics or geophysics. The main objective of the successful
candidates will be to work on modelling and compensation of the Newtonian noise
but they are expected to pursue their own research program as well.
Collaboration with other members of the POLGRAW group is encouraged.
The group has access to excellent computational facilities including the clusters
at IMPAN, CAMK and at the University of Zielona Gora.
