CENPA Postdoctoral Position in Neutrino Physics (MAJORANA / LEGEND) - Postdoc

The Majorana Demonstrator is a neutrinoless double-beta decay search using an array of HPGe detectors enriched in ⁷⁶Ge, currently running in the SURF Laboratory in Lead, SD. Recent results from the experiment show world-leading energy resolution, and background levels commensurate with Majorana‘s European counterpart, GERDA. LEGEND is a next-generation experiment combining the best techniques from Majorana and GERDA. Its first phase, LEGEND-200, aims to begin data taking on the 2021 timescale. A postdoctoral fellow working on these experiments would have rich opportunities in Majorana Demonstrator data analyses with a steady stream of physics results, as well as forward-looking LEGEND R&D aimed at alpha background control, liquid argon scintillation readout, and HPGe detector readout.

We welcome highly motivated applicants having received a Ph.D. in atomic, nuclear, or particle physics or astronomy within the last 3 years, or who are expecting a Ph.D. before starting the position.
