Job description:
We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced individual to work in our Centre for the Subatomic Structure of Matter (CSSM). The position will be funded through the ARC Discovery Project DP180100497 that has recently been awarded to Professor Anthony Thomas at The University of Adelaide and Dr. Cedric Simenel at the Australian National University. This position will be of interest to theorists working in nuclear theory and the project will be focused on the development of the Quark Meson Coupling model and its application to nuclear structure and reactions as well as neutron stars.

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM CRITERIA
- PhD or equivalent degree (or thesis submitted) in theoretical physics
- A commitment to research excellence in theoretical nuclear physics
- Demonstrated publication track record in leading scientific journals and conferences
- Advanced analytical and computational skills, including demonstrated ability to perform complex numerical calculations
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research in addition to working effectively as a member of a research team
- Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
