New tenure-track position in Observational Cosmology in the Physics Institute/USP
The University of Sao Paulo and the Physics Institute are inviting applications for a tenure-track position in the field of Observational Cosmology, namely: galaxy surveys, 21cm surveys of neutral H, and their cosmological applications.
The University of Sao Paulo (USP) is the top research institution in Latin America, and the Physics Institute is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment. Candidates are expected to carry out high-level, independent research, to participate in outreach activities, to mentor students and to teach at the graduate and/or undergraduate level.
The Cosmology group has strong ties to Physics and Astronomy institutions around the world, and is actively involved in several efforts to map the 3D structure of the Universe, employing different techniques and wavelengths.
Compensation is commensurate with research institutions around the world (starting salary of approximately U$ 3.000), with a teaching load similar to U.S. and European universities. The position also comes with a "young professor" start-up grant from the University. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to get more information about the benefits.
Although the deadline is by Feb. 20th, we encourage applicants to start the application process early. Please visit our website for details about the application process.
