Region: Europe
Job description:
We are seeking a highly motivated doctoral researcher (f/m) with strong interest in the physics of cosmological phase transition. The PhD project focuses on the formation and dynamics of bubbles during the Higgs transition in the early Universe.
Requirements: Candidates are expected to hold an outstanding master's degree or equivalent in Theoretical Physics. The project requires substantial knowledge in quantum field theory, very good programming skills, and the ability to combine analytical and numerical methods. We expect a high level of commitment with the aim of publishing scientific articles in highly ranked international refereed journals. We also expect team spirit, social competence, and proactiveness.
We offer a temporary employment (TV-L E13, 50%) funded by the German Science Foundation for a period of three years, starting at the earliest possible date. The project is jointly guided by Prof. Dr. W. Porod (QFT and Astro Particle Physics) and Prof. Dr. Haye Hinrichsen (Statistical Physics and Quantum Information Theory). We provide an excellent scientific environment and opportunities of interacting with the international scientific community.
