Deadline: 2017-12-15
Region: Austalasia

Job description:
The University of Auckland is hiring a post-doc in Theoretical Cosmology to join Richard Easther's group working in Particle / Early Universe Cosmology.
The particular focus for this position is the dynamics of ultra-light (axion) dark matter and the formation, evolution and interactions of galaxies in these scenarios. In addition, there will be considerable scope to pursue other topics in theoretical and observational cosmology.
As well as Easther, the group currently consists of 3 PhD students and 2 post-docs, with interests ranging from multiverse cosmology through to inflationary dynamics and astrophysical tests of early universe scenarios. The University of Auckland is a member of the LSST consortium and has access to national High Performance Computing facilities and there will be significant support for travel and visitors.
This is a fixed-term, three year position and will be available from May 2018 at an initial annual salary of NZ\$80,000.
The University of Auckland is New Zealand's leading university and Auckland itself frequently appears on lists of the world's most liveable cities. The Department of Physics strives to provide a positive and supportive environment for all staff and students and we particularly welcome applications from members of groups who are traditionally under-represented in the physical sciences.
Please apply through Academic Jobs Online, with a CV, research summary and three letters of recommendation.
We will be happy to answer any questions about this position; please contact Richard Easther r.easther@auckland.ac.nz
Assessment of applications will begin on December 15 and continue until the position is filled.
