Job description:
The string theory group at Cornell invites applications for one or more three-year postdoctoral fellowships to begin in fall 2018. The research interests of the string group include all aspects of string theory and AdS/CFT as well as cosmology, the conformal bootstrap, quantum field theory, and general relativity. The group includes faculty members Tom Hartman and Liam McAllister, as well as students and postdocs.
Applicants carrying out research in theoretical cosmology will be considered for membership in the Modern Inflationary Cosmology collaboration, within the Simons Foundation’s Origins of the Universe initiative https://www.simonsfoundation.org/2017/07/21/new-initiative-ponders-origins-of-the-universe/. Faculty in this collaboration include Eva Silverstein, J. Richard Bond, Raphael Flauger, Renata Kallosh, Andrei Linde, Liam McAllister, Leonardo Senatore, and Matias Zaldarriaga.
Applicants interested in the conformal bootstrap and related fields will also be considered for membership in the Simons Collaboration on the Nonperturbative Bootstrap (http://bootstrapcollaboration.com).
