Hamburg location, is seeking: Postdoc (f/m) Belle II
DESY
DESY is one of the world’s leading research centres for photon science, particle and astroparticle physics as well as accelerator physics. The particle physics program of DESY includes strong contributions to the Belle II experiment at KEK in Japan that will start data taking in early 2018. The experimental program is enhanced by collaboration with a strong theory group.
The DESY Belle II group is involved in data analyses focusing on Dark Matter searches and B-physics. In addition, the group is involved in the commissioning of the Belle II pixel vertex detector, and software development (including Machine Learning) for the tracking detectors and the electromagnetic calorimeter. DESY is searching an experimental particle physicist to develop software for the Belle II electromagnetic calorimeter, and to analyse Belle II data. The researcher will be part of the newly founded Helmholtz Young Investigators Group ”Searches for Dark Matter and Axion-Like Particles at Belle II”.
The position
- Analysis of Belle II data
- Software development for the Belle II electromagnetic calorimeter
- Participation in the supervision of students
Requirements
- Ph.D. in experimental particle physics
- Experience in data analysis
- Experience in software development
- Outstanding teamwork, communication and presentation skills
- Ability and eligibility to travel to Japan
- Very good English language skills
