Field of Interest:hep-lat, hep-ph
Deadline: 2017-12-31
Region: Europe
Job description:
The lattice QCD group at Bielefeld University has immediate openings for three post-doctoral research positions in the field of lattice QCD at non-zero temperature and/or density.
Research topics are ranging from bulk thermodynamics and new algorithms at non-vanishing baryon density over chiral and topological properties of hot QCD to hadron correlation functions and transport coefficients in the plasma phase. For one of the positions we are seeking a candidate with strong interest in the development of software solutions on peta- and exaflop compute architectures.
Successful candidates will participate in research projects of the Collaborative Research Center (CRC-TR 211) ''Strong-Interaction Matter under Extreme Conditions'' of University groups in Bielefeld,Frankfurt and Darmstadt. Within the CRC-TR they will contribute to the research of the Bielefeld group and collaborate with groups at the other nodes of the research center.
The positions are initially for 2 years, extension for a third year may be possible.
Review of applications will start on January 2nd, and will continue until the positions are filled.
Further information can be found at http://www2.physik.uni-bielefeld.de/hepbielefeldjobs.html or by contacting any member in the lattice QCD group at Bielefeld University (Frithjof Karsch, Olaf Kaczmarek, Edwin Laermann, Christian Schmidt, Wolfgang Unger)
Applications and three letters of recommendation should be sent to Mrs. Gudrun Eickmeyer (gudrun@physik.uni-bielefeld.de)
