Job description:
Rome 3 INFN section expects to hire a postdoctoral researcher for a 2-year term starting in Fall 2018.
The researcher is expected to contribute with independence to the research carried out by the group (M. Ciuchini, G. Degrassi, R. Franceschini, V. Lubicz, D. Meloni, F. Sanfilippo, S. Simula, C. Tarantino) in the following areas of physics of the Standard Model and beyond:
The group enjoys daily contact with experimental groups working on the ATLAS experiment and its upgrades, the JUNO experiment, the DarkSide experiment and the Belle2 experiment.
University environment allows easy exchange with researches in neighboring areas of physics investigated in the Department and INFN section such as theoretical astrophysics, cosmology and astro-particle physics. Well established scientific links and joint activities exist with other groups in Rome area (Rome 1 "Sapienza", Rome 2 "Tor Vergata" and INFN National Laboratory in Frascati).
Salary (36'000 EUR per year) is tax free for the admissible applicants and well above average salary in the city of Rome. Applicants must be non-italian citizens or, if italian nationals, have held research positions outside Italy for the past 3 years at the deadline. Applicants must have a PhD obtained before taking up their appointment and no more than 8 years prior to the deadline, i.e. on or after November 15th 2009 (exceptions exist in some circumstances).
The researcher will have a travel budget for research and conference travels. Benefits include lunch tickets.
