The Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, Berlin,
Max Planck Research Group Historical Epistemology of the Final Theory Program, headed by Dr. Alexander Blum,
is seeking
two postdoctoral scholars, starting date: 01 February 2018,
for two years, with employment contract and the possibility of extension by up to two additional years.
The positions are closely related to the research agenda of the group. The research group will pursue interdisciplinary research at the intersection of history of science and physics.
We are seeking one outstanding junior scholar with a background in physics (or philosophy of physics) and one outstanding junior scholar with a background in history of science (or philosophy of science).
At the time the position begins, candidates should hold a doctorate in the field relevant to position they are applying for (PhD achieved in 2015 or later).
The Max Planck Institute for the History of Science is an international and interdisciplinary research institute. Postdoctoral fellows are expected to participate in the research activities of the Institute, and to present their own work and discuss that of others fluently in English. Applications may be submitted in German or English.
The positions are primarily devoted to research, with no teaching obligations. Remuneration is based on the TVöD-Bund pay scales (E13).
