Job description:
Four Postdoctoral Research Associateships in Theoretical Particle Physics at the University of Edinburgh
Applications are invited for up to four Postdoctoral Research Associates in Theoretical Particle Physics at the University of Edinburgh, to work in the Higgs Centre for Theoretical Physics. The positions are all funded by STFC. Candidates are expected to have, or be working towards, a PhD in theoretical particle physics and proven expertise and technical abilities required to undertake world class research. For these particular posts we seek theorists who will support our current research in lattice QCD, collider physics, gauge theory amplitudes, flavour physics, or indeed any aspect of work related to the standard model of particle physics or its possible extensions. Strong candidates working in any of these areas are encouraged to apply, since we expect to make a broad range of appointments.
Positions will initially be for two years, with possible extension to three depending on funding constraints.
All applications should include a completed Application Form, a Curriculum Vitae, a Statement of Research Interests, and names and contact details for three referees. Appointments will usually begin on 1st September 2016 or as soon as possible thereafter.
For informal enquiries, please contact Prof. Richard Ball (r.d.ball@ed.ac.uk) or Prof. Luigi Del Debbio (luigi.del.debbio@ed.ac.uk).
