Job description:
The Center for Quantum Mathematics and Physics (QMAP) at UC Davis seeks exceptional candidates for postdoctoral positions in theoretical high-energy physics. QMAP bridges the Physics and Mathematics departments. It is devoted to the study of fundamental physics, broadly in the areas of quantum field theory, string theory, and gravity, as well the study of mathematical structures that govern these areas. We in particular would like to solicit applications from candidates interested in holography, scattering amplitudes, supersymmetric field theory and dualities. We also encourage candidates working in geometry, topology, and other areas of mathematics with interest in developing the mathematical understanding of fields/strings/gravity to apply for these positions. The members of QMAP interested in these topics are Tudor Dimofte, Veronika Hubeny, Mukund Rangamani, and Jaroslav Trnka. Postdoctoral positions would begin in Fall 2018 and last two years, with the possibility of renewal for a third year given satisfactory performance. Postdocs will direct the course of their own research. There are no formal teaching responsibilities, though instruction in mathematics can be arranged if desired. Applicants should send their CV, publication list, statement of research interests, and at least three letters of recommendation to Academic Jobs Online. For further information please contact either Tudor Dimofte in Math or Mukund Rangamani in Physics or any other members of the group. |
