State University of New York at Buffalo
Experimental High Energy Physics
The experimental High Energy Physics group at UB has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral research associate position to work on the CMS experiment.
The successful candidate is expected to take a leadership role in CMS physics analyses and detector upgrade efforts. The UB CMS group is involved with the current and previous Forward Pixel Detectors, as well as simulations for the TFPIX for Phase 2 upgrades. In addition, they have significant responsibilities and expertise in the reconstruction and calibration of jets, jet substructure, boosted W/Z/H and top tagging, and heavy flavor tagging. The group performs analyses for BSM searches and SM measurements in the B2G, TOP, HIG, and SMP Physics Analysis Groups. The UB group enjoys close collaboration with leading experts in precision calculations of QCD and EW observables.
