Job description:
Our group consists of 15 senior scientists and about 25 students. The Heidelberg LHCb group has a wide range of analysis interests and are involved in a leading role in numerous analysis in the area of mixing and CP violation, electroweak penguin decays, analysis of semileptonic decays, charm physics and hadron spectroscopy. The group has taken over major commitments in the design, the construction and the organisation of the forward tracking system for the upgrade. The detector is based on scintillating fibres, which are read out by silicon photo-multipliers. In addition the group works on the tracking software for the current and the upgraded detector and develops filter algorithms for the high-level trigger.

We are seeking for Post-Doc candidates to strengthen our analysis activities in the area of time dependent CP violation, electroweak penguins decays, semileptonic decays or searches for Dark Matter. Furthermore, we expect successful applicants to make significant contributions to either our software activities in are of track reconstruction or to our hardware activities for the LHCb scintillating fiber tracker.

Applicants must have a doctoral degree in experimental particle physics or in a related field with relevant experience. Applications including CV, a research statement and three letter of references should be sent to

Prof. Stephanie Hansmann-Menzemer
