Experimental High Energy Physics - Postdoc at Santiago de Compostela U., IGFAE

Job description:
The High Energy Physics Group at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (USC) (Spain) has an opening for one postdoctoral research position to work in the LHCb experiment.

Applicants must have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in particle physics, and be experienced in software and data analysis. The initial appointment will be for two years.

The succesful candidate is expected to play a leading role in the stydy of strangeness decays, as well as to work on the High Level Trigger of LHCb and its upgrades. Further duties include participation in LHCb operation and analysis review.
The selected candidate will be employed under ERC-StG-639068. The salary will be similar to spanish fellowship "Ramon y Cajal". Frequent stays at CERN are forseen, as well as possible stays at other LHCb institutions.

Desirable experience and skills:

* Knowledge of LHCb sodtware
* Experience in reconstruction, trigger or muon identification.
* At least three years of experience in institutions outside Spain.
* Ability to work with students.

The expected starting date for the positions is October 2017.
