Field of Interest:cond-mat, physics
Deadline: 2018-01-03
Region: Asia
Job description:
The research group on Complex Quantum Materials and Microstructures at Fudan University (Shanghai, China), led by Professor Dong-Lai Feng, is looking for Post-doctoral Research Fellows. (Two positions available)
The goal of our research is to understand novel materials, particularly the electronic structure of complex quantum materials and their microstructures. We study various correlated electron systems, such as high-temperature superconductors, topological matter, Mott insulators, exotic magnetic materials, and low dimensional systems, primarily using scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy (STM/STS) and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES). We also design and create novel materials with molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) and various in-situ transport techniques. The post-doctoral positions will prefer candidates with expertise of STM and in-situ transport measurements.
Your Qualifications:
1. PhD in experimental condensed matter physics (awarded or pending).
2. Strong research background in the field of correlated materials.
3. Expertise in at least one of the following fields: STM (preferred)、in-situ transport (preferred) or ARPES.
4. Very good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
Our Offer:
1. Annual salary: ~USD \$32000, plus subsidized apartment (\$3700/year) provided by the University.
2. Term: 2~3 years.
To Apply: Please send a cover letter, statement of research interests, and current CV including publication list to jinmiao@fudan.edu.cn. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide two reference letters.
About Fudan University: Fudan University was founded in 1905, and today is one of China's highest-rated and most dynamic research universities. It has long attracted the best students from throughout China, but its focus is increasingly international. Our group is located in the new Advanced Materials Laboratory, on Fudan's new park-like Jiangwan Campus. This facility houses several world-leading State Key Laboratories focused on novel materials, their bulk properties, and their surfaces and interfaces, and is well-equipped with modern materials characterization techniques. We encourage an open, collaborative, and fast-moving research environment, in which members are provided the resources to pursue their own interesting ideas as well as those of interest to the group.
