Postdoctoral Position Available in theoretical biophysics and polymer physics.
The Physics Department at the University of Houston is looking for an outstanding scientist to perform research in theoretical single molecule biological physics. The successful applicant will work with Prof Greg Morrison, and is sponsored by the department http://morrisongroup.nsm.uh.edu/. The position is fully supported by the college of Natural Sciences and Mathematics for a period of two years.
Applicants are expected to have a PhD in physics, applied mathematics, computer science, or related fields. Previous experience with biophysics is ideal, but successful applicants may have experience applying theoretical and computational methods statistical mechanics or stochastic modeling and be motivated to apply their knowledge to biological problems. Applications should include a CV, a brief statement of research interests, and a list of references that will be contacted later. Competitive applicants will be contacted via Skype initially, and may potentially be invited to visit the University of Houston in person.
