Job description:
The Institute for Nuclear and Particle Physics (INPAC) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), China invites applications for postdoctoral researcher positions in the area of neutrino physics, specifically in the PandaX-III double beta decay experiment. We welcome highly motivated applicants who have obtained a Ph.D. degree or who are expecting one prior to starting the position, in nuclear physics, particle physics, or a related field. The initial appointment is for 2 years with possible renewal. We offer a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and subsidized housing options through the university. We will also offer assistance in applying for the prestigious "T.D. Lee Postdoctoral Fellowship" and “Chung-Yao Chao Postdoctoral Fellowship” for additional benefits.

The appointee will participate in the PandaX-III program, a neutrinoless double-beta decay experiment using high pressure xenon gas Time Projection Chamber with 200 kg of Xe-136 isotope. The successful candidates are expected to play a key role in the design and construction of the PandaX-III detector. Prior hardware experience with rare-event searches, noble liquid/gas detectors, or liquid scintillator detectors will be advantageous.

INPAC has twenty faculty members working on diverse areas of fundamental research, including nuclear theory, particle theory, particle and nuclear experiments. Other neutrino projects we are involved in include JUNO and CUORE. English is the working language at the institute.

Applicants should submit a CV, a brief research statement, and a list of publications to Prof. Xiangdong Ji (xdji@sjtu.edu.cn) or Prof. Ke Han (ke.han@sjtu.edu.cn). Three letters of recommendation should be forwarded to the same address. For full consideration, applications should be received by June 30, 2017. However, the search will remain open until the position is filled.
