PhD position in ATLAS at LHC - Student at Clermont-Ferrand U.

Job description:
The Atlas@Clermont group (http://cern.ch/atlas-clermont) offers a 36 months PhD position starting in October or November 2017 on analysis of LHC run 2 data recorded with the ATLAS detector. The two possible subjects are "Measurement of the Higgs Top Yukawa coupling" and "First observation of the production of Four Top Quarks". Both subjects are sensitive to New Physics processes. The thesis work will also include a contribution to the improvement of the readout electronics of the Tile Calorimeter for HL-LHC.

The position is located at the Laboratoire de Physique de Clermont-Ferrand, France, with frequent trips to CERN. It is funded by Université Clermont Auvergne, with a net salary of around 1300 euros per month. Travels to CERN, workshops, schools and conferences are fully funded by CNRS.

Speaking french is not mandatory and free french courses will be available. Good knowledge of english is necessary. The application of females is encouraged as Atlas@Clermont applies affirmative-action measures to ensure gender equality in the recruitment process.
