Job description:
To make a leading contribution to the Muon Ionization Cooling Experiment (MICE) effort at the University of Glasgow, under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, Professor Paul Soler. Specifically, the job requires expert knowledge in particle physics and/or accelerator physics, with experience in the simulation and analysis of particle physics or accelerator data. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the operation of the MICE detector at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL) in Oxfordshire, will be required to analyse the data taken with MICE and will also help in the formulation and submission of research publications and future research proposals. The successful candidate will also help supervise PhD and other project students, and manage the project as opportunities allow.
