The experimental particle group at the Institute of Particle Physics (IOPP), Central China Normal University (CCNU) currently has one immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on the LHCb experiment at Large Hadron Collider. The contract should start between Match 20th, 2017 and Aug. 1st, 2017.

The CCNU-LHCb group is a newly established group with two faculty members, plays a leadership role in the study of CP violation in B decays at LHCb, and also working on the Electroweak physics, and will be involved in tracking development for the LHCb upgrade. In the Run 2 data analysis, we will focus on CP violation measurements in B decays, and the precision Electroweak measurements (W/Z boson properties).

The position is initially for two years with possibility to extend or promotion, subject to funding and performance review. The successful applicant will be expected to be based at Wuhan, China, with occasional travel to CERN as needed. The successful applicant will receive a competitive salary (250,000 CNY), plus additional tax-free subsidy when working at CERN (2000 CHF/per month).

Information and application

The position as postdoctoral researcher require a PhD in particle physics or a closely related field, and no more than five years of post-doctoral experience. Candidates who are close to finishing their PhD thesis are also encouraged to apply. Experience in programming, data analysis and/or hardware is expected. The successful applicant is expected to play a major role in Electroweak physics data analysis, to perform hardware and software work for Scintillating Fiber Tracker of LHCb upgrade, also to guide graduate students.

Interested applicants should send their applications (a curriculum vitae, a brief description of your research interests, list of representative publications, and arrangement of at least three reference letters) to Prof. Hang Yin (hang.yin@cern.ch).
