Example areas of interest include novel quantum phases of matter, quantum computation, quantum entanglement, gauge/gravity dualities and their applications.
The Enrico Fermi and James Franck Institutes are the interdisciplinary research homes for faculty in a variety of subjects, ranging from physical chemistry and materials science to high energy physics, astrophysics and cosmology. Successful candidates will also join the Kadanoff Center for Theoretical Physics, which supports a vibrant research program spanning the subject areas listed above, and forms an intellectual bridge joining research activities in EFI and JFI.
Candidates must have a doctoral degree in physics or related fields prior to appointment and are expected to establish an independent research program while effectively contributing to the Department's undergraduate and graduate teaching programs.
