Research field: Origin of Galaxies and Cosmology
Ecole Normale Superieure (Paris) opens a full professor position in its Physics Department, with a possibility to start as early as September 2017. French and foreign applications are welcome.
The successful applicant will establish a research program in a domain related to the origin and evolution of galaxies, ranging from fundamental questions in cosmology, such as the nature of dark matter and dark energy, to the non linear physics of baryons, which leads to the emergence of the observable Universe. The candidates must explain how they will scientifically interact within the Physics Department, and with groups active in their field in the Paris area. In addition a theoretical or practical involvement into the development and the exploitation of major observing facilities, which are expected to strongly impact their field in coming years, would be an asset. The successful applicant will establish a training program in Astrophysics at ENS and take part in the broader teaching program in Physics.
