Job description:
The High Energy and Cosmology Theory Group at the University of Pennsylvania announces a postdoctoral research position to begin in September, 2016. Candidates should have primary research interests in high energy theory (encompassing both formal and phenomenological research), or in theoretical particle cosmology (including early universe models, dark matter and dark energy). The University of Pennsylvania Physics and Astronomy department hosts vibrant cosmology and particle physics research programs (http://www.sas.upenn.edu/heptheory/) and has a long record of close collaboration and strong support for its postdoctoral researchers. Successful candidates will also be Fellows of the Center for Particle Cosmology (http://www.physics.upenn.edu/particlecosmo/).
Postdoctoral researchers are expected to perform independent theoretical research and to interact with faculty, postdocs and graduate students. Applicants should have a PhD in high-energy theory and/or theoretical particle cosmology and have demonstrated excellence in research in these areas. These positions are intended to be three years in length. However, each appointment will be renewed year to year subject to continued funding. An applicant should submit a Cover Letter, a Curriculum Vitae, a Statement of Research Interests, a Publication List and three Letters of Recommendation through Academic Jobs online: https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/6425
