CEICO Senior Postdoctoral Research positions in Cosmology and in Gravitation
The Central European Institute of Cosmology and Fundamental Physics (CEICO), at the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, welcomes applications for a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher position.
CEICO is a new research centre, established with funds from the Czech Academy of Sciences, the Czech Science Foundation, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the European Commission. The international team of experts is headed by Martin Schnabl and Costas Skordis and comprises staff members Michael Prouza, Ignacy Sawicki and Alex Vikman, senior scientists Ted Erler and Joris Raeymaekers and another ten postdoctoral researchers and graduate students. The team’s areas of research are: cosmology, gravity, string field theory, and instrumentation for cosmological observations.
Further information about CEICO and its research programmes can be found at http://www.ceico.cz.
Successful candidates are expected to have at least three years of postdoctoral experience in Physics or a related field and work on any of the following areas of research:
- Late Universe cosmology (e.g. dark energy, dark matter, modifications of gravity, model testing)
- Early Universe cosmology (e.g. inflationary models, origin of the Big-Bang, inflationary model testing)
- Strong gravity (e.g. tests of gravity with compact objects, physics of black holes, PPN formalism)
- Theories of gravity (e.g. gravity in quantum field theory, model consistency, screening mechanisms)
Fixed-term:
The duration of this post is up to five years, starting in September 2017 (initial contract for 3 years, renewable for a further 2 years subject to performance). Earlier starting dates are negotiable.
The application:
Applicants are requested to apply by filling the online form at http://www.ceico.cz/jobs/senior-gravity-2017 and uploading a single pdf file (font size no less than 11) with
