Junior Post-Doc. Position on Quantum Gravity @ Sogang Univ., Seoul, Korea
We are looking for a junior Post-Doc. who wants to do 4-D and 3-D quantum gravity researches together. Since this is a research position in a small personal research project, the budget is quite limited (especially not enough for hiring Senior Post-Doc.) and so I am looking for an ambitious young Post-Doc. who wants to join our "challenging research project" while studying with me. The details are as follows.
1. Terms and conditions: June 2017 - May 2019; 1 + 1 year; Salary 2400 Won + alpha / year;
2. Required background knowledge:
(1) Experiences of (or at least familiarity with) related researches on quantum field theory (4-dimensional quantum field theory or 3-dimensional Chern-Simons theory), in particular, practical knowledge/experience on "renormalization"
(2) Experiences of (or at least familiarity with) related studies on the modified Einstein gravity, like f (R) or Gauss-Bonnet gravity, in particular, practical knowledge/experience on "ADM formalism, black hole solutions, Penrose diagram, Hawking radiation calculation".
(3) No difficulties in analytic (tensor analysis) and numerical computations (ODE calculation) using Maple / Mathematica.
(4) [Opional] Program encoding, Data analysis using MCMC (or CosmoMC)
(5) Some string theory backgrounds (D brane, AdS / CFT, dS / CFT, etc) would be helpful though not studied directly in our works.

3. Research topics:
[1] Gravity:
D = 4, 3 Horava's quantum gravity:
(1) Finding the exact as well as numerical black hole solutions,
(2) (Non-Linear) Perturbation for various backgrounds, including cosmological ones,
(3) (Dirac's) Constrains analysis
[2] Field Theory:
D = 3 Chern-Simons Formulation of 3D gravity:
(1) Computing Virasoro algebras and Statistical Entropy (using Cardy's Formula)
(2) Computing 3D gravity partition functions
(3) Application to Condensed matter systems.
