Manager, Data & Analytics - CWT Solutions Group - Senior

In 2016 the CWT Solutions Group (SG) launched the Travel and Expense (T&E) data integration platform and The T&E Decision Tree – a novel strategic approach to T&E cost management which received a positive response from the industry. We are now in position to scale up the capabilities of T&E processing infrastructure and the features of our main T&E product. 

The Manager, Data & Analytics, will be responsible for enhancing the Travel & Expenses (T&E) technology platform to process expense or travel data from any source and allow the Solutions Group to tackle expeditiously a broad range of T&E, Business Intelligence and Big Data analyses to be delivered internally and externally.

Responsibilities:

Terabyte-scale data analysis [hardware and software]:

Code development (Linux scripting, C++)
Dataset management
Work with the Hadoop infrastructure and standard parallel processing

Contribute to new concepts using advanced data analysis and visualization:

Combine and mine internal and external datasets to extract deep business insight
Contribute with ideas for analyses that would help CWT better “tell a story with data”

Disseminate Big Data work:

Create novel ways to distribute Big Data insights for wide consumption
Raise awareness internally of the Big Data direction and how it can benefit our business
Attend and present at internal and external events (client meetings, industry conferences)

Person Specification:

The successful candidate will be educated to degree standard, ideally with a PhD in a scientific discipline or equivalent in work experience. You will have significant experience in research roles with previous experience with the analysis of TB-size datasets preferred.

Due to the nature of the role and responsibilities, you will be using R, C++, Python and JavaScript on a daily basis. Experience in these languages would be ideal, or you would be expected to demonstrate that you can cover technical gaps fast. Knowledge of Big Data platform Hadoop, Spark, Hive is big plus. Additional skills/ knowledge in R Shiny, CSS, HTML would also be preferred

Finally, you will need exceptional communication skills with fluency in English both verbally and written with the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders from non-technical to very technical (IT) collaborators.
