Job description:
Postdoc on CMS at IPHC Strasbourg (posted January 10, 2017)
-------------------------------------------------

The CMS group at the Institut Pluridisciplinaire Hubert Curien (IPHC Strasbourg, France) has an opening for a postdoctoral researcher in experimental particle physics. A young researcher, at most two years after PhD defense, is looked for.
The position, mostly based at IPHC-Strasbourg, is for 2 years and can start as soon as possible. A good experience in CMS and its physics is desirable.

The IPHC-CMS group has responsibilities in the back-end electronics of the upgrade tracker for HL-LHC. The recruited postdoc will be the IPHC contact person between the electronic developments performed at the lab and the other institutes involved in the upgrade of the tracker DAQ electronics. He will contribute to the beam test campaigns of the upgrade tracker modules and to their analyses.

The successful candidate will be also able to join some other activities where the IPHC group has a strong expertise, namely: new physics searches in the top quark sector, SUSY (stop) search, Higgs boson properties (ttH search, Higgs CP study), b-jet and tau lepton identifications, running and survey of the silicon strip-tracker (see http://iphc.in2p3.fr/-CMS-.html).
Most of these physics subjects and object identification studies also necessitate a dedicated work in view of the High Luminosity LHC. The candidate will participate to this prospective effort.

The review of applications is starting now and will continue until the position is filled. The job can start at the earliest convenience.

Applicants should send (by email) their curriculum vitae, a list of publications indicating their personal contributions, a description of their previous activities and a short statement of research interests, all in pdf format, to
Daniel Bloch – IPHC Strasbourg ( bloch@in2p3.fr ).

Applicants need to arrange for two letters of reference to be sent directly at the same email address.
