Job description:
The Group of Particle Physics of University of Montreal invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position in the ATLAS group. The position will be based at CERN.
The ATLAS-Montreal group has played a major role in the search for Exotic Physics and Supersymmetry as well as the measurement of radiation in the ATLAS cavern and the LHC luminosity using Timepix silicon devices. We are also currently joining the ATLAS tracker upgrade. The Group of Particle Physics at Montreal has also strong involvements in direct searches for dark matter and B-factory experiments.
The successful candidate will be expected to play a leading role in the analysis of the ATLAS data, with a focus on searches for new physics in Run 2 data, and to contribute to the operation of ATLAS and/or to the planning of the tracker upgrade.
Applicants must have a recent Ph.D. in particle physics, or equivalent experience, and demonstrate the ability to work in a research environment and prepare research results for publication and for presentation at scientific meetings. The appointment is for a period of three years and will be based at CERN for the whole period.
The candidate should send a CV, a brief description of research experience and interests, a list of publications, and arrange to have three letters of recommendation sent to:
Professor Claude Leroy (leroy@lps.umontreal.ca)
Applications received by November 15, 2015 will receive full consideration. The position will remain open until filled. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, in accordance with Canadian Immigration requirements, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority in case of equal qualification.
Questions can be directed to:
Professor Jean-François Arguin (arguin@lps.umontreal.ca)
