Scientific Coordinator (f/m) FLASHForward

DESY
DESY is one of the world’s leading research centres for photon science, particle and astroparticle physics as well as accelerator physics. FLASHForward is a next-generation beam-driven plasma wakefield acceleration experiment at DESY. It merges a 1.2 GeV SCRF electron accelerator, a 25 TW laser, and novel plasma targets and optics to create a unique research environment. The experimental mission is to deliver high-quality electron beams from plasma beyond the current state-of-the-art for enabling applications.
The position
-Scientific coordination of activities at FLASHForward in close collaboration with the project leader -Supervision of scientific work in day-to-day operations Initiation and maintenance of international scientific collaborations
-Dissemination of scientific results
Requirements
-PhD in physics or a related field
-Significant experience as a postdoc in accelerator, plasma, or laser physics at international leading institutions
-Project management skills Leadership potential
-Command of the English language in speech and writing

The position is limited to 5 years.
Salary and benefits are commensurate with those of public service organisations in Germany. Classification is based upon qualifications and assigned duties.
