The high-energy theory group at SUBATECH (Laboratoire de physique subatomique et des technologies associées, Nantes, France), invites applications for a two-year Postdoctoral research position to be filled in 2017 (starting no later than September 1, 2017). An earlier starting date would be favored.
The high-energy theory group at SUBATECH consists of several faculty members (Joerg Aichelin, Pol B Gossiax, Thierry Gousset, Christoph Hartnack, Marlène Nahrgang, Stéphane Peigné, Andrei Smilga, Taklit Sami, Klaus Werner), graduate students and a current Postdoctoral Researcher, who contribute to a productive research environment. Regular publications and participation in conferences guarantees an excellent interaction with the scientific community.
Applicants should have a PhD at the time of the starting date and a strong background in fields that align with the research performed in our group. These activities include various aspects of high-energy nucleus-nucleus collisions, in particular the theory and phenomenology of QCD at high-temperature and the Quark-Gluon Plasma, the dynamics of heavy-flavor particles in the QGP and jet energy loss.
Expertise in numerical implementations and high-performance computing applications for heavy-ion collisions is considered a strong advantage.
