Field of Interest:hep-th
Deadline: 2016-12-08
Region: Europe
Job description:
Four or more postdoctoral positions in theoretical physics at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Uppsala University, starting 2017/09/01, or later as agreed upon.
The postdoctoral positions are part of several projects and grants funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, the European Research Council and the Swedish Research Council. Applicants are expected to conduct research in theoretical physics related to quantum field theory and string theory. Research areas of particular interest include (but are not restricted to): supersymmetry, gauge/gravity duality, integrability, scattering amplitudes in super-Yang-Mills and supergravity, cosmology, and string phenomenology. Employment will initially be for 2 years, with the possibility of extension for a third year. The applicant must hold a PhD degree in theoretical physics or an equivalent title. While all applications will be considered, candidates who received their PhD in the past three years are especially encouraged to apply.
The application should contain a cover letter mentioning the applicant’s research area, a CV, a brief research statement, and a publication list, submitted through AcademicJobsOnline https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/8581 (deadline: December 8th). Additionally, the applicant should arrange to have two or more letters of recommendation submitted through AcademicJobsOnline.
