Field of Interest:physics-other
Experiments:Scatter Tomography
Deadline: 2015-08-11
Region: Australasia
Job description:
The purpose of the position is to develop a Computed Tomography (CT) scanner prototype that incorporates both X-ray transmission and Compton scattering information. This device, for which we hold a provisional patent, will produce three-dimensional (3D) images of the internal structure of a sample from only a single static X-ray exposure. This will enable us to dramatically reduce the dose to biological specimens and/or reduce the exposure time to enable real time, high-throughput imaging.
This position is funded by a Development Grant through the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), Australia (APP1093319).
