We sincerely invite young researchers in accelerator physics/FEL terahertz technology around the world to attend the annual East Lake International Forum for Outstanding Overseas Young Scholars（东湖论坛）, hosted by Huazhong University of Science & Technology, Wuhan, China.
You are also welcome to visit our institute IAEE during this forum and share your research results and academic ideas with young techers and graduate students.
1. Who we are?
The Institute of Applied Electromagnetic Engineering (IAEE) is one independent research branch at School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (SEEE) at Huazhong University of Science & Technology (HUST), Wuhan, 430074, China. HUST is a national key university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education of P. R. China, and is among the first Universities joining the national “211 Project” and “985 Project”. SEEE is one of the best teaching and researching institutions in China. Recent research interests in SEEE integrate Particle Accelerator, Pulsed High Magnetic Field, Magnetic Confinement Nuclear Fusion, Plasma, Pulsed Power, Superconductivity, Energy Storage, etc.
Found and lead by Professor Mingwu Fan, member at Chinese Academy of Engineering, IAEE focus on the fundamental R & D of particle accelerator driven complex electromagnetic devices, as well as the industrial transformation and application of research achievements.

2. Research projects
1) Development of Proton therapy system based on superconducting cyclotron
2) Design and construction of low energy compact cyclotron for medical applications
3) Development of free electron laser (FEL) type Terahertz (THz) radiation source electron
4) Design and research of high power negative hydrogen iron source (one division of ITER project)
5) Industrial irradiation applications of electron accelerators
Several full time postdoctoral positions are offered in the above 5 research orientations. Candidates with the academic and research background in accelerator physics, electromagnetic field and microwave engineering, electrical engineering, automatic control, mechanical engineering, radiochemistry, etc. are expected.
